Our Story
A church born from a Bible study, growing into a family of house churches across Dayton.
How It Began
Spring Forth Church began as a Bible study in 2021. What started as a small group of believers gathering around Scripture grew into something deeper — a community rooted in the gospel, committed to one another, and united in a desire to see God move in the city of Dayton.
Over the past several years, we have been meeting in homes across the Dayton area, sharing meals, praying together, studying God’s Word, and encouraging one another to follow Jesus in every area of life.
Our hope is to grow into a church of house churches — a network of small, relationally rich communities that are centered on both the Word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit.
What We’re About
Our community includes people from differing ethnic and denominational backgrounds. We seek to emphasize the core doctrines of the historic church in a practical way while dismantling cultural or legalistic frameworks that obscure the gospel of grace.
We believe that the church should reflect the character of Christ — restoring what is broken, healing what is wounded, and inviting people into the fullness of life found in the gospel.
House churches allow real relationships, accountability, and discipleship to flourish as believers grow into Christlikeness and carry the gospel into families and neighborhoods across Dayton.
Our Structure
Spring Forth Church is governed by a plurality of elders according to the biblical model of church leadership. We believe that healthy church governance is essential to a healthy church community.
Our church life centers around two complementary rhythms:
- House church gatherings — the primary place of belonging, discipleship, and community life, meeting weekly in homes across Dayton.
- Public Sunday gatherings — when our whole church family comes together for corporate worship, teaching, and fellowship.
These two rhythms work together to create a community where people are known, cared for, and equipped to live as disciples of Jesus.
"For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them."— Matthew 18:20
Our Heart
Gospel-Centered
Everything we do flows from the good news of Jesus Christ — His life, death, resurrection, and coming kingdom.
Word & Spirit
We are committed to the authority of Scripture and the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the church.
Community
We believe God has called us to live as a family — loving one another, bearing one another's burdens, and growing together in Christ.
