Spring Forth Church holds to the historic Christian faith as revealed in Scripture. The following convictions guide our life together as a community of believers.

The Authority of Scripture

We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. It is sufficient for teaching, correction, and training in righteousness. All of Scripture points to Jesus Christ and is the final authority for faith and life.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16

The Trinity

We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully God, co-equal and co-eternal, yet distinct in role and relationship. The triune God is the creator, sustainer, and redeemer of all things.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” — Matthew 28:19

The Gospel

We believe the gospel is the good news that God, in and through the person and work of Jesus Christ, has acted to save sinners and reconcile them to Himself. Jesus, the eternal Son of God, became fully human, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitute for sinners, was buried, and rose bodily from the dead on the third day. He ascended to the right hand of the Father and will return in glory to judge the living and the dead and to make all things new.

“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day.” — 1 Corinthians 15:3–4

Salvation Through Christ

We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. No human effort, moral achievement, or religious observance can earn a right standing before God. Salvation is the gift of God, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Those who trust in Christ are justified, adopted into God’s family, and sealed by the Holy Spirit for the day of redemption.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” — Ephesians 2:8–9

The Church

We believe the church is the body of Christ — the gathered community of all who have been redeemed by His blood and united by His Spirit. The church is both universal and local. The local church is the primary context for worship, discipleship, accountability, and mission. We believe the church should be governed by a plurality of qualified elders in accordance with the New Testament pattern.

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some.” — Hebrews 10:24–25

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the continuing work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer and the church. The Spirit regenerates, sanctifies, empowers, and gifts believers for ministry. We believe that the gifts of the Spirit described in the New Testament continue to operate in the church today for the building up of the body and the advance of God’s kingdom. We pursue the fullness of the Spirit with humility and discernment, always testing what we experience by the truth of God’s Word.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” — Acts 1:8

Discipleship

We believe every Christian is called to be a disciple of Jesus and to make disciples. Discipleship is not a program but a way of life — growing in the knowledge of God, being transformed by the Holy Spirit, and walking in obedience to Christ in every area of life. The church exists to equip believers for the work of ministry so the whole body grows to maturity in Christ.

“And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” — 2 Timothy 2:2

The Historic Christian Faith

We stand in continuity with the historic Christian faith as expressed in the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed. We seek to hold firmly to the core doctrines that have defined orthodox Christianity for two thousand years while remaining open to the fresh work of the Holy Spirit in every generation. We value theological depth, doctrinal humility, and the unity of the body of Christ across traditions.

“There is one body and one Spirit — just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call — one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all.” — Ephesians 4:4–6
